Diving
Mauritius has some great diving spots, with anything from shipwrecks to shark dives http://diveadvisor.com/mauritius
There are a number of good diving schools in the North which you can choose from, including one next to Antoine’s place in Trou aux Biches- which is run by a lovely French couple: Pascal & Karine. www.diversocean.com
Kitesurf
Mauritius for kitesurf is like Jamaica for rum: awesome.
Two main areas to kitesurf:
i. In the North:
The main spot is Anse la Raie (just after Cap Malheureux, 15 minutes drive from Grand Baie). Grand Gaube is good too (another 10mns drive from Anse la Raie)
Kite surf schools/rentals:
Kuxville (Sinbad Kitesurfing): http://www.kuxville.com/ and http://sindbad.mu/
Ion Club: http://www.ionclubmauritius.com/en/club-mistral-anse-la-raie/center-spot
Kite at North: http://www.kiteatnorth.com/
ii. In the South:
The main spot is le Morne, suitable for both beginners and for advanced wave surfing.
Surf
The two best surf spots in Mauritius are located in the South, however, there are a few options in the North too.
i. In the North:
The two main spots are near Pointe aux Piments: "Tagore", right in front of the public beach of Pointe aux Piments, and "Calamar", 500 metres North of the Public Beach in front of the small "Colonial Beach Hotel". Careful, it’s shallow reef underneath...
ii. In the South:
The two best spots are Tamarin Bay (“Dale”) and Le Morne (“One Eye” being the main spot)
